So you’re wondering if that subtle feeling of dizziness, extra trips to the bathroom, and those sudden cravings for pickles and ice cream might mean something exciting? Well, buckle up because we’re going to dive into the fantastic world of early pregnancy signs!
Dig deeper and find answers to your question. Read this blog post until the end then you can have an idea if you are pregnant or not. Let’s start!
You may feel your body making changes before you know you’re pregnant or you may not notice any symptoms at all. Personally, I did feel the changes before knowing I am pregnant that’s when I decided to research more about it and yes! the symptoms are pointing to yes so I decided to take that pregnancy test and the rest is history.
Here are the 10 Early Signs of Pregnancy:
1. Tender, Swollen Breasts
Your breasts are more sensitive, sore and super soft. A gentle bump may hurt. An uncomfortable position in bed will make you shift . Even when showering you will feel extra sensitive when lathering. Bra is really a bother and irritable. There won’t be noticeable changes when you look at the pair but they are usually the first to know.
2. Fatigue
You will feel slouchy and extra tired after chores. Sleepiness overtook you at times and you just want to lay in bed and do nothing mostly. You may find yourself yawning all day. This sign of pregnancy happens because of high levels of the hormone progesterone.
Growing a tiny human is no joke, so your body needs rest for it to work properly.
3. Cramping
A slight pressure here and there. Mild-cramping like when we have our period. Nothing new here for us ladies but this is one sign of early pregnancy too.
4. Constant Hunger and Food Cravings
Just like when we are before our period, we love food and have extra cravings for them. This too can be a sign of early pregnancy but you may notice some changes with how you want the food. Some that are your favorites before may smell different, you may like your frappe or milk tea with less sugar now and so on.
5. Sensitive Sense of Smell
Your sense of smell is extra alert. They tend to notice smell that you didn’t know bother you before. And some things that are okay smelling before may give you a headache now even with just a whiff of it! Crazy hormones indeed.
Personally talking, I hated my husband’s perfume then which I bought myself. The smell of our car gives me headaches too which don’t bother me before at all.
6. Spotting
Which is also known as Implantation Bleeding. Implantation takes place about 10 days after conception. This may look like a discharge on your underwear. Light bleeding can be a sign that an embryo has implanted in the lining of your uterus.
7. Frequent Urination
Peeing more than usual? Frequent trips to the restroom are a common early pregnancy sign. The amount of blood in your body increases during pregnancy, causing your kidneys to process extra fluid that ends up in your bladder.
Just a start of your restroom relationship. May it be in a clinic, hospitals, cinema and malls. With pregnancy, a nearby and clean comfort room is a must.
8. Headaches and Dizziness
Because of both the hormonal changes in your body and your increasing blood volume. You will be more sensitive to car rides now, sudden movements and please avoid extreme, circular rides!
9. Mood Swings
Mood swings also are common. You may feel more irritable and extra grumpy. Feeling like you’re on an emotional roller coaster and watching dramas make you cry like a baby. You become more sensitive to words or on how you partner responds and treat you.
10. Missed Period
Track your cycle closely, use an app for accuracy and reminder as well. It might be hard to determine whether or not you’re late if you are not sure when is the last day of your last period.
One of the ultimate teller but this symptom can be misleading if you have an irregular menstrual cycle. But if you have a regular period and in your childbearing years then this can be a trusted sign and just wait for a few days to take that pregnancy test.
When to Take a Pregnancy Test?
For a more accurate result, take the test a week after your missed period. The reason you shouldn’t take a test too soon is that pregnancy tests work by measuring levels of HCG, a hormone that is only present if you’re pregnant.
Intuition
Sometimes, you just know something’s up! Trust your instincts – if you have a hunch that you might be pregnant, you might just be right. After all, your body knows best!
Remember, every woman’s journey is unique, so don’t stress if you experience some, all, or none of these signs. If you suspect you’re pregnant, grab a pregnancy test or visit your healthcare provider to confirm the good news.
And that’s the 10 Early Signs of Pregnancy that you have to observe on yourself. If you have them then take that pregnancy test and if the result is positive, it is best to consult a doctor for further steps and to answer your questions especially for first time mothers.
