Top Things You Need To Make Your Pregnancy Easier

1. Pre Natal Vitamins

First and foremost, we need to ensure that we are healthy and is doing our best to protect our baby and the best tool for that would be Vitamins that are targeted to enhancing baby development.

From folic acid, Vitamin C, Iron and more. We need to take them as instructed by our doctor to ensure that we are on the right track when it comes to keeping ourselves and the baby in optimal health.

2. A Good Health Practitioner

There are many doctors available but it is a gem to find someone who actually cares. Who you connect with and have a good patient-doctor relationship.

It’s best for you to feel relaxed and familiar with the people where you go for prenatal visits.

Pregnancy is a big concept and questions are meant to be asked. It’s such a nice feeling to be able to ask whatever it is that you want to know and say the things that bothers you and get that professional advice that will make you calm in dealing with such situation.

4. Maternity Clothes and Underwear

Leggings, dresses and maternity bra. They sure understand pregnancy so well. Those leggings are heaven sent as I am not too fond of dresses as I feel like the air is going up my belly. (weird, right?)

The bra may not be sexy with its gigantic cups, but forget sexy when all I want is for my breasts to breathe. If given a choice I’m better off without them but people stare, so…

Don’t forget to buy some bra-extenders too. You need them. Seriously.

5. Pregnancy Apps, Books and Other Resources

Embrace the modern times with its unlimited information of easy reach.

Here are some of the recommended resources a first time mom may find useful.

  • Download Apps on your phone to track your pregnancy’s progress. What To Expect- Pregnancy and Baby Tracker
  • Join a community. Facebook groups of mommies is your best guide as you get to ask questions from others who had been there or like you who is a new mom.
  • Read and research. There are plenty of resources about pregnancy. The best books I found are:
    1. What To Expect When You’re Expecting by Heidi Murkoff
    2. Your Pregnancy and Childbirth by The American College of  Obstetricians and Gynecologists

I highly suggest for you to get second hand to save money.

Pregnancy Books

Blog articles written by mothers and doctors. Vlogs that takes you to their own ultrasound, check ups and baby shopping.

And one of my most favorite are the Parenting Talks in hospitals, mommy groups, brands and more. You get to learn new things from esteemed speakers, mingle and meet new mom friends and the loot bags with free baby products and samples.

6. Great Support System

A mom who is relax and calm gets to take care of her baby better. A well rested body works better and can compensate to the strain that pregnancy is.

From your spouse, family and workmates. It’s a luck to have such good relationship with everyone with no worries, conflicts and issues that will bug you at night causing you to lose sleep.

It’s a great feeling to have someone to take care of you, your cravings, understand your mood swings and actually deal with it. Hello dear husband… Parenting starts on pregnancy, on how you deal and make decisions on the big things.

  4. I never got a maternity pillow, but it definitely would have come in super handy for support while sleeping. I might invest the next time around.

  5. Great post! I think so many people are clueless in the beginning about how important it is to have a really wonderful and supportive doctor! Love that you added that to your list.

  6. After having two kids, I definitely agree with your list! I tried to avoid buying maternity clothes as much as possible, and I always regretted it.
